The forest is thick around you, so tight against your throat that you can hardly breathe. What is this green hell? Too many trees, not what you're used to, no view of the sky, not even the merest glimpse of open terrain: just the suffocating vines and tree-trunks, taller than the mightiest oak.
"Tena koe." The sudden voice snaps you back to reality. Who's there? Before you can blink, there's a pure-black face in front of yours, her irises invisible, they are so dark. She cocks her head to one side, examining critically, before pressing her nose and forehead against yours and sharing your breath.
"Ata marie, pakeha. Ko Maru toku ingoa." What? She doesn't speak your language? You shake your head, stunned, even as she shakes hers and a laugh like fire crackles from her throat. "Pakeha. Foreign child of foreign skies. Welcome, welcome to the land of the long white cloud. Welcome to Aotearoa."
+ open season
Welcome to Shadow's Clans, a literate feline RPG. As you can see, the site is still in the early stages of redevelopment --it was opened once before but, as often happens with Warriors role-plays (as it was before), it never took off. Then again, that could also because it wasn't really advertised ;). Point is, it's having a massive haul-over, to bring it up to the standards that its creator wanted to leave it at. If you're interested in the premise, have more ideas for her, or just want to drop her a line, sign up and shoot her a PM :). She's beginning to think that the human race no longer exists... ;).
+ thanks for the memories

Well, here I am... Writing again... Not much to say, except that I haven't really updated anything since the last time that I was here XD.

I've been on this site pretty much all morning -should've been doing my reading logs >>;- and not much to show for it. Each category has a board now, but they're still not in the right order and I'm still not sure what I want to do with the middle two XD. But I do have the member legend working, and the clan info is ready to be used.
Screw the boards.

Making a point to update this every day :). So, sidebars are looking OK (working on the site at school has its advantages --you can make sure it's optimised for a computer with a square, low-res monitor).
Anyways, things seem to be going OK. Rules are still being updated; categories have been created with nothing in them; I've discovered Lifehouse, so there's something good to listen to :).

Well, that was fun XD. Now it's time to either try to get those member-group rollovers working, or to work on getting all the boards in the right places.
Screw the boards.

If I'm gonna keep updating this, the bloody scroll thing had better start working XD.

I honestly don't know why I bother updating this thing. Maybe some crazy part of me tells me that someone, somewhere -some psychotic stalker perhaps- is reading this... But that's not what I'm here to say.
Last night's disaster is averted, this table is re-coded from scratch, and it works :) I'm still trying to persuade it to grow a scrollbar when it needs to, but I guess that's just too hard for something so lazy, so I'm moving on to fixing up to the Clan info.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS FRIGGING TABLE?! I AM SO FRUSTRATED. NOT TO MENTION THAT I THOUGHT THAT WRITING IN CAPS WAS SUPPOSED TO RELIEVE ANGER AND MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER. IT DOESN'T. I JUST GET MORE AND MORE MAD.
*Sigh* Well, time for therapy again, I guess. One of many therapies.

Well, here I am, trying to at least get this site looking presentable again before it dies :) The skin's looking infinitely nicer than it did when I left it! But as I've been on the computer hours after I was supposed to get off, and tomorrow's a school day (not to mention that no-one actually gives a damn about this except me XD) I'm going to bed. Night, all!

+ laws of light and motion A useful spot where the rules for the forum and such are located, where you can ask for help, and where you are welcome to report any glitches or problems. As the site is under reconstruction, the rules may be frequently changed, so if you haven't checked in a while, just give the board a looking-over. Moderator: + admin

KoraClan
KoraClan Camp The place KoraClan call home. Unlike most of the other Clan's camps, theirs is located in the middle of a grassy patch, clear of trees and rocks. Only one fallen, blackened tree remains to remind the Clan of the fire that raged there only two generations ago. The Clan made their new homes by digging into the dirt, wearing down a good many claws. Now, the leader makes his or her den under the Old Tree, and the other dens are dotted about at random. Cats can dig their own dens if they wish, but it takes a great deal of time and effort. Moderator: + admin

The Kora/KereClan Borders Where KoraClan brushes against KereClan. A small brook runs through here to merge with KereClan further down and into HonuClan territory. But that would be going past your own, prey-rich borders, wouldn't it?

Kora/HauClan Borders Where fire and wind brush together. There are many steep hillsides and landslides are common in this area.

Outside the Clans A long, uninteresting stretch of forest that marks the end of KoraClan's designated territory.

KereClan
KereClan Camp KereClan, in a similar vein to KoraClan, have chosen an underground camp. However, unlike KoraClan, theirs is on a steep slope...and surrounded by trees...and in a cave. If you sit at the edge of the cave, you would be looking down on the lush, native forest, with a small stream flowing below. Inside, the earth underpaw has not yet been rendered completely hard by the passing of the cats, but it is not soft enough to come loose underfoot. The cats make their nests in small alcoves, dotted around the walls. A hole in the roof of the cave tells the tale of how the Leader's Rock came to be there, but thankfully the first generation of warriors to come here had the sense to dig channels around the rock to the mouth of the cave, so that the rain doesn't flood the cave. (And it's an added bonus that over the years, creepers and various other plants have spread themselves over the hole, so the light and rain that come through are only a small fraction of what they would have been.) Earthen Hollow Here, you'll easily be able to see that there is plenty of room for training the apprentices of KereClan

The Kere/KoraClan Borders This marks the end of KoraClan's territory and the beginning of KereClan's denser-foliaged lands. Beware of KereClan's fierce claws and exceptional eyes, all you who trespass here...

Kere/HonuClan Borders The thick leaves and shadowy forests of KereClan give way to a slightly marshy area, at the east side of HonuClan's territory. Make sure they stay away from what's yours.

Outside KereClan Even more uninteresting territory. A good spot to sit and think comes about halfway down from the end of KoraClan; a cave clefted into the rock long ago, only MaruClan knows how.

HonuClan
HonuClan Camp HonuClan have made their home just below where KereClan's stream turns into a river, merging with KoraClan's stronger current. Their camp is situated in several clefts in the rock, just across the fast-flowing river. The clefts are in a tall, wide expanse of rock. When the current threatens to block them in, they move an abandoned village that still scents of Pakeha, and has holes in the walls and roofs. Moderator: + admin

Honu/HauClan Borders HonuClan shifts into HauClan, and brings with it HauClan's steep ridges. Watch your step around here; the ground could be dangerous!

The Honu/KereClan Borders Here the river-rich Clan turn into the thickly forested KereClan. Leave them in peace; apart from a little more river, what do they have that HonuClan could possibly want?

Outside HonuClan Yet more boring stretches of forest. No chance of border-fights here, although there is a place where you have to cross the river. It's rather challenging, both on the muscles and claws, but also on the mind. You don't want to get trapped when the river is in full flood...

HauClan
HauClan Camp HauClan made their home long ago, under a different name. They called themselves 'wairua', or spirits. After the coming of the Clan cats, however, the idea of becoming one with them and not an enemy sounded rather good. Their camp is on top of a hill, with dead trees surrounding it. These make good look-out posts. The dens are under large heaps of dirt that was moved there by the Maori when they dug out their village (HauClan is the closest Clan to them). It was piled over large dead logs, which have become hollow and now serve as the dens for every cat. HauClan, being more free with the rules, do not have a special place for the leader to speak from. The Clan is mostly made from the rouge-ish cats, cats who were turned away from other Clans. Moderator: + admin

The Hau/KoraClan Borders Most of the border here is marked by steep decline into KoraClan's borders. This being the case, KoraClan does not often try to claim territory here, as there is too much unnecessary work involved to maintain them. It's a fairly easy stretch to keep ordered, just watch your step!

Hau/HonuClan On this boundary the roles are reversed; HonuClan looks down on the cats of HauClan. There is a waterfall further on, and a deep pool to drink from.

Outside HauClan The borders of HauClan. Ironically, this area is all completely level, but there is nothing for HauClan to fear... Apart from the Maori village to the south.

No Clan's Land
The North Forests This is where most of the rogue gangs hang out. The forest is thick and sturdy for the most part. Just over some high hills, you'll find the ocean, though not many cats have ever seen it; excepting those who have been to the very top of the Fire Mountain where the Shadowed Circle is.

Shadowed Circle Where the leaders and medicine cats go to share dreams with MaruClan. Although they can share dreams with the cats anywhere, MaruClan have declared this cave the best spot for the purpose. Sunlight has never touched the stone here.

Falls On a small ledge, just to the right of a waterfall of warm water is a ledge on which the Elders from each Clan present the Tale each year. It is a great event. The place is only officially used once every year, but many other, more sinister things go on around this spot.

The Maori Village Where the Maori people live. There is a settlement of Pakeha much further south, but both the cats and the Maori refuse to have anything to do with them. Only the loners or desperate Clan cats will ever go near the Maori people for anything.
